1975 Gary Clark At The Office Of The Arizona Gay News (A.G.N.)

Gary Clark arrived in Tucson in the mid 1970's for a one week vacation.

Gary Clark then stayed for over 30 years. From the cutting edgey satire of Gary Clark's spot on graphic art works, his wit, his ability to perform on stage, or to simply walk into a room and magically turn it into a party. Gary Clark entertained, educated, enriched, and transformed many of those he came in contact with.

Often known for his probing, exposing, satirical, often controversial graphic art work that appeared in numerous LGBTQ+ publications based in both Phoenix and Tucson over the years, Gary Clark along with his ‘sometimes life partner’ as the two often joked to their closest friends made LGBTQ+ history.

Always a tireless LGBTQ+ Activist and Champion of the Downtrodden, Gary Clark was everywhere all the time at every event in any way involving standing up for the rights of LGBTQ+ people and their causes, or for the founding of a new local LGBTQ+ activist organization.

Gary Clark made a difference in paving the way for LGBTQ+ people not only of his own time period, but for those who would be coming after him.
