Tucson Gay Museum History
Tucson Gay Museum's efforts began June 10, 1967
as a collection project of a few 'liberated' local
Tucson, Arizona
neighborhood school age boys
secretly meeting together talking in very low
hushed
voices in one of their parents
garages
with an idea they all knew very well had to be kept
a secret for both
their own survival and for the
survival of what would become original
one of a kind historical collections.
Attempts over the years since
1967
were made to destroy or steal those now
priceless
tens of thousands
of LGBTQIA+ historical archives
documenting many decades of
LGBTQIA+ history.
All
Survive Intact, Preserved.
The Effort Continues!
